From Sandy, Oregon - From the last stop light on the east side of Sandy, drive east on Hwy 26 for 12 miles to the exit for the town of Brightwood. Turn left / north off of Hwy 26 and follow East Brightwood Loop Road for 0.6 miles to East Brightwood Bridge Road, which leads past the Brightwood Tavern. Turn left here and follow this for 0.3 miles to East Barlow Trail Road. Turn right onto East Barlow Trail Road, and in 3.4 miles you’ll see the small temporary sign for the 1937 Steiner Log Church on your left. Turn left into the gravel driveway and proceed a short distance, where you’ll find the church amongst the towering Big Leaf Maples. Note that, because of the forest, you cannot see the 1937 Steiner Log Church from East Barlow Trail Road.
